When you start collaborating on open source projects or in development teams, Git is a tool you can’t evade. Even WordPress development shifts more and more towards Git.
Git is a powerful version control system, but even for advanced users it is often quite intimidating. Understanding some of the principals on which Git operates helps a long way in mastering this tool.
After a quick introduction into Git David will examine those principals. Along the way, he will try to recover code, which we thought was lost forever. The aim of this presentation is to gain a better understanding of Git so beginners feeling more comfortable to contribute to open source projects.

CSS-Grid in freier Wildbahn
Seit CSS-Grid im Jahr 2017 in modernen Browsern eingeführt wurde, können Entwickler endlich komplexe Layouts mit weniger Code erstellen. Allerdings funktioniert CSS-Grid etwas anders als das, was Entwickler bisher mit CSS-Frameworks umgesetzt haben.
In diesem Talk wird Jessica Beispiele zeigen, wie sie CSS-Grid bisher auf Websites eingesetzt hat. Dazu gibt es noch Tipps für Fallback-Layouts, falls doch noch ältere Browser wie Internet Explorer 10 oder 11 unterstützt werden müssen. Denn das sollte heute keine Ausrede mehr sein, CSS-Grid nicht zu benutzen!

If that happens, there are many techniques that can be used to stop further damage, track down what the intruder did and how they got in. Finally the site needs to be cleaned up and re-opened for visitors. In this talk the most important techniques are presented along with real-life examples when they were used.
